The Snep Turret Self-Locking Hex Nut is an all metal turret torque type self-locking nut.
The locking action of the Snep Nut is provided by double slotted locking slots. The metal above the slot is set to de-pitch the threads so that when the nit is tightened on to a bolt, the thread is gripped on the flank.
The all metal Snep Nut means that the nut can be used at elevated temperatures (up to 300 degrees), and is not affected by oil.
The property class of the Snep Nut is 8, so it is suitable for use with high tensile bolts of property class 8.9 and below (includes bolts: 8.8, 6.8, 5.8, 5.6, 4.8, 3.6).
The finish on the Snep Nut is Electro Zinc Yellow (ZY).
The Snep Nut meets the requirements of the BS EN ISO 2320-2008 standard (prevailing torque type steel hex nuts, mechanical and performance requirements).
The Snep Nut can be re-used and still maintain a locking action.
